Middletown Commissioner/ Burgess Pro Tem
Middletown, the best small town in Frederick County!
When my husband and I moved to Middletown in 1993, we were drawn in by the valley, the mountains, and the kind of small-town charm that's hard to put into words. More than three decades later, we are still here, and I can tell you it's the people and the sense of community that make Middletown truly special.
I have served as a Middletown Commissioner since 1996 and as Burgess Pro Tem since 2006. Whether I am working on a wastewater infrastructure project or organizing Christmas in the Valley, I work to make Middletown a community that is strong and focused on the future.
Investing in What Matters Most
As Chair of the Water & Sewer Committee since 1998, I have worked on some of the most important investments in Middletown's future: replacing century-old water lines, building a new reservoir and water treatment facility, and replacing sections of the spring line. Right now, we are working hard to find the most fiscally responsible path forward on required wastewater upgrades. Providing safe, reliable water and sewer services is one of the most essential responsibilities we have and a fundamental commitment we make to our residents every day. We take care of our infrastructure so it can take care of us.
A Downtown Worth Coming Back To
I believe a strong Main Street is the heartbeat of any great small town, which is why I worked to create the Downtown Revitalization Zone Incentive Program, a practical tool to encourage investment and keep our downtown thriving for families, businesses, and visitors alike. As Board liaison to Main Street Middletown, I stay closely connected to the people and businesses that work to keep our downtown vibrant.
Built for Families, Connected for Everyone
I know firsthand what it means to raise a family here. Dave and I watched our three sons grow up attending Middletown schools and playing MVAA sports, the kind of hometown experience that stays with kids for a lifetime. Accordingly, I continute to advocate for sidewalks, trails, and parks that keep Middletown walkable, safe, and connected for families of all ages.
And for more than 20 years, I have organized Christmas in the Valley, one of the most beloved traditions in our community and a testament to the spirit that makes Middletown home.
Middletown First. Every Decision. Every Day.
Middletown is special and that's not by accident. It takes neighbors who show up, leaders who listen, and a community that looks out for one another. Every decision made comes from one place: love for this town and the people in it. Together, we keep Middletown the best small town in Frederick County.
